About GAAP Architects

Developed from Garry Adam Architect which was established  in 2004, GAAP will continue to maintain a strong track record of built work in domestic private rural and urban housing and communities of houses of all scales. Underpinning our work is a belief in architecture’s capacity to positively transform peoples’ lives and contribute sensitively to the built and natural environments. We are committed to the craft of sustainable construction and the research of new technologies in pursuit of making buildings that fulfill clients’ expectations, that are economic, efficiently procured and environmental responsible.

Data Protection Policy

Our approach combines a thorough knowledge of current practice, techniques and procurement methods, drawing from best-practice nationally and from across Europe. We combine cutting-edge design-based research through a collaborative interdisciplinary approach with more tried and tested traditional design and construction processes.  A combination of research and teaching extending internationally, innovation and collaborative working is an intrinsic part of our design process. Ultimately, we develop imaginative and innovative building solutions which can be practically delivered.

Our practice specialises in sustainable and low energy architecture in combination with an innovative approach to the spatial and aesthetic design of buildings. We have both been Passivhaus certified, with expertise in SAP certification of buildings, psi-thermal detailing, energy modelling at domestic and community scales coupled with sophisticated 3-D visualization and scale modelling skills. Our practice is informed through our teaching and research at the University of Dundee which gives us the ability to access funding to support project innovation.  We also have significant experience of self-build and property development.
